Mission Statement
The mission of the Old Dominion University School of Dental Hygiene is to attract, educate and graduate men and women who are prepared intellectually, technically and ethically to meet the oral health care challenges of the 21st century. We are committed to excellence in dental hygiene education, practice, public health, management and research. Our purpose is to create an educational environment at both the baccalaureate and master's levels that fosters the development of life-long learning, outstanding citizens and leaders, and oral health care professionals who can provide ethical, comprehensive care to diverse population groups collaboratively in a variety of settings. To achieve this mission, the School recognizes and supports efforts for personal and professional growth of the faculty and students.
