ADMISSION PROCESS

New students are accepted for each January class. You will need to have all of your application materials in for review by November 15, 2008 for the January 2009 class.

All application materials are submitted to ODU Graduate admissions (not the school of nursing).

You must submit the following as part of the application process.

Go to www.odu.edu/dnp and you will find the two applications attached.

  1. ODU application
  2. DNP Supplementary Application
  3. Three professional letters of recommendation (on ODU form)
  4. Essay Statement
  5. Official Transcripts of all your educational programs

In addition to meeting University requirements, applicants for the DNP program must meet the following criteria:

  1. Baccalaureate degree and MSN degree in nursing from a NLNAC OR CCNE accredited program.
  2. Advanced Practice education and licensure as an NP, CNS, CNM or CRNA or Nurse Administrator with Patient Outcomes responsibility
  3. Graduate degree with quality point averages of 3.2 overall
