Clinical Performance Appraisal

Hello, I am Ann Campbell and I will work with you mainly as course coordinator for Pediatric Nursing and as clinical faculty with Community Health Nursing, and Role Transition.

CPA test

I would like to provide you with information about your evaluation in clinical/laboratory courses with the Clinical Performance Appraisal (CPA) tool. This tool will evaluate your accomplishment of the "eight greats" or the eight end of program behaviors. The CPA for each clinical course is different and developed by the course coordinator for each course. Expectations of you increase with each clinical course. The CPA reflects these growing expectations.

Your CPA in your beginning laboratory courses will be a simple Pass/Fail. As you enter the clinical facility in N321 Adult Health I the CPA is a graded document. You will meet with your clinical faculty at the beginning of every clinical course during which time expectations for the course will be discussed. During the midterm of each clinical semester you will again meet with your clinical faculty to discuss your progress and areas for improvement. A final meeting is held at the end of the clinical semester in which your final evaluation will be discussed.
